BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The All American Football League announced today the appointment of Mike Jones as head coach of Team Alabama. The League also introduced Joe Cribbs as President of the Alabama team. The announcement was made today by Keenan Davis, the League's Vice President of League Operations and COO.
Mike Jones is ready to make history as the inaugural head coach of the All American Football League's Team Alabama. Jones brings nine years of coaching experience to Team Alabama and has found success on many levels.
"I am so excited to be a part of football history here in Alabama," said Jones. "The long tradition of quality winning football programs in the state of Alabama is what drew me to this opportunity and I look forward to adding to that tradition with Team Alabama."
In his first season as a head coach in 2004, Jones led the NFL Europe League's Frankfurt Galaxy to a 7-3 record and into World Bowl XII, and in 2006 won World Bowl XIV. In 1998 and 2000, he won two World Bowls with the Rhein Fire, and also made it to the 2002 and 2003 World Bowl finals. He has also coached at Liberty University and with the Orlando Rage of the XFL.

Since ending his playing career, Cribbs has found much success with his career in financial services and as an entrepreneur with his ownership of a car wash chain. Cribbs has also served the Alabama community through work with his youth foundation. The Joe Cribbs Youth Foundation was created for the purpose of promoting education and physical and mental fitness to Alabama's youth. The foundation is designed to meet those needs, promote a healthy lifestyle, create positive character traits, and increase the desire to learn and to improve self worth.
A native of Alabama, Cribbs added his name to the annals of Alabama football lore during his years as a running back for Auburn University and was drafted in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft to the Buffalo Bills in 1980. He is also a proud member of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
After his rookie season with the Bills, Cribbs he earned consensus UPI AFL-AFC Rookie of the Year honors and was voted to the Pro Bowl. In five seasons, he made three Pro Bowl appearances.
In 1984, Cribbs returned to Alabama to play for the USFL's Birmingham Stallions. Cribbs ended his professional playing career in 1988 after stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, and Miami Dolphins.
