Feiertage für Football-Fans

Für Millionen Football-Fans in den USA beginnt die Festzeit bereits zwei Tage vor Heiligabend.
In der "Bowl-Season" finden vom 22. Dezember 2007 bis zum 7. Januar 2008 über die USA verteilt 32 Endspiele im College-Football statt.
Für die teilnehmenden Universitäten geht es um Titel, nationale Aufmerksamkeit und Sponsoren. Vor allem die fünf BCS-Bowls (Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl und die National Championship) haben mit mehr als 90.000 Zuschauern in ausverkauften Stadien Profi-Format.
Diese Saison ist eine der ungewöhnlichsten in der Geschichte des College-Footballs. Das hochkomplizierte Verfahren, mit dem die Teams in der abschließenden Setzliste Anfang Dezember ihre Platzierungen und damit die Bowl-Spiele zugewiesen bekommen, hat in diesem Herbst für einige Turbulenzen gesorgt.
Ungewöhnliche Namen, große Spiele
Mit Ohio State und LSU qualifizierten sich zwei Teams erst in letzter Sekunde für das BCS-Finale, nachdem zum ersten Mal in der Geschichte die beiden topgesetzten Teams verloren und dadurch wieder von den Plätzen an der Sonne gekippt wurden.
Die Namen einiger Finalspiele - wie der Papajohns.com-Bowl – klingen ungewohnt, doch sie stehen für hochklassige Spiele mit künftigen NFL-Stars.

Japp, ist knorke. Muss bloß Montag arbeiten. Mal vorsprechen und um Urlaub bitten.

Na hätten se mal mehr NFLE und so...das Thema ist aber durchgenudelt und muss nicht noch mal aufgewärmt werden. Bemerkenswert ist aber, dass man bei der ARD kann, wenn man will (und nachts eine gute Gelegenheit hat Sendezeit sinnvoll zu füllen  ).
